Holy Saturday liturgy at St. Jude church Pakshikere

March 26, 2016 : Easter Vigil liturgy started at 7:00PM on Holy Saturday at Pakshikere Church. In the beginning introduction was given for the whole liturgy. Then all gathered in front of the church. The parish priest blessed the Fire candles and the incense and prepared the Easter candle 2016. After that the whole congregation along with the priests proceeded to the church singing the Easter joy, holding the lighted candles in their hands. Then the Pascal hymn was sung and proclaimed the importance of the Easter vigil and the Pascal candle. After that the holy mass continued with the proclamation of the word of god having several readings from the Old Testament leading to the resurrection of our lord. The baptismal vows were renewed and the holy water was sprinkled on the congregation. Then the mass continued as usual. The whole ceremony got over at 9:00Pm.
