Sep 8, 2016: Monthi Festh - Mother Mary’s Birthday was celebrated in a Grand manner at Pakshikere Church and Shrine. In the morning at 7:45 am all people gathered at Pakshikere town. New Corns were blessed there and procession started from there with Mother Mary’s statue to the church. Holy Eucharistic celebration started at 8:30 a.m. Fr. Lancy Rebello OFM was the main celebrant, Fr. Richard Guest priest and Fr. Parish Priest and Assistant Parish priest concelebrated.
After the mass there was Novem Jevan for all along with Payasam and Laddus. People went home holding a sugar cane in their hand. It indeed was a grand celebration. On this Mother Mary’s New grotto was blessed by parish priest and dedicated to public honor. The grotto was beautifully built by Mr. Walter D’souza. Parish priest congratulated and thanked him for his beautiful art work at the grotto. People rendered their homage to Mother Mary and offered flowers.
