July 4:The members of Sacred Heart Ward celebrated their ward feast on 02-07-2011. The celebration began with the mass in the Parish at 4.30pm. Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo D’Souza and Rev. Fr. Sunil D’Souza was the main celebrant. The liturgy was creatively organised by the ward members. During the mass prayers were offered for the various needs of the ward. Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo D’Souza in his homily highlighted the need for the adoration of Sacred Heart of Jesus and prayed for the various needs of the ward.
After the mass a gathering for the ward members was organised in the house premises of Mrs. Mary Quadras. This was another occasion for the ward members to come together and share their joy. For the evening program Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo D’Souza , Rev. Fr. Sunil D’Souza, Mrs. Lucy D’Souza, Sr.Shoba and the ward Gurkar Mr. Arun D’Souza were the chief guests. Miss. Teresa Sequeira welcomed the gathering. Then Mrs. Gladys D’Souza, Mrs.Cynthia D’Souza and Miss. Joythi Saldanha prayerd for God’s blessings with a prayer song. The guests were welcomed florally. The previous Gurkar Mr. Cyril Fernandes was felicitated for his service towards the ward as the Gurkar. Latter Mr. Cyril Fernandes also thanked the ward members for their gratitude. Various games were conducted by the M.C. Mr. Merwyn Saldanha. Mrs. Cynthia D’Souza gave the vote of thanks. The program ended with a dinner specially prepared by the ward members. This occasion provided the ward members an opportunity to come together and share their joy.
