March 2016 : Women’s day was celebrated in our shrine on the occasion of international women’s day, celebrated on March 8th. Fr. Andrew Leo D’souza Parish Priest celebrated the Eucharist and in his homily spoke about the women and their role in the society and in the church. A special prayer was prayed for all the women. After the mass there was a short program Organized for women by I.C.Y.M. Pakshikere. Fr. Patrick Sequeira Assistant Parish Priest was the guest of honor. Fr. Patrick in his message spoke about the changing outlook about women in the modern world. He also reminded about the part played by woman in the life of men and children. Resource person for the program was Mrs. Carol D’souza; spoke about the rights of the women and the reasons for sexploitation of women in different areas. She also voiced her concern about the growing violence against women. The ICYM members conducted some games and winners were given prizes at he end there was refreshment for all. Everyone appriticated the gathAering. Jyothi Saldanha was the Master of ceremony of the day and Sharon D’souza the secretary proposed the vote of thanks.
