April 23:The much anticipated Parish Day was celebrated on 22nd with lot of festivities. The evening began with the thanks giving mass at 4:00pm. As the main celebrant Rev. Fr. Richard Coelho, administrator of Fr. Muller’s Hospital was present and Rev. Fr. Rohan D’Souza, Capuchin was present too. Along with them Rev. Andrew D’Souza and Rev. Fr. Sunil Pinto were present. The homily on parish as a family was delivered by Rev. Fr. Richard Coelho, in which he highlighted the importance of belongingness to the parish as one family. The donors of the day were felicitated with blessed candles by Rev. Fr. Richard Coelho.
After the mass the parishioners were served with cold drinks and cake in the hall. The formal program with the guest being brought to the hall in procession. As the chief guest of the programme Rev. Fr. Richard Coelho, Mr & Mrs Bernard Ferrao were invited. Besides chief guests Rev. Fr. Andrew D’Souza, Rev. Fr. Sunil Pinot, Mr. Dolphi Miranda, Sr. Sheeba and Mrs. Lucy D’Souza were present. Mr. Dolphi Miranda welcomed the gathering and Mrs. Lucy D’Souza presented the parish annual report.The chief guests distributed the prizes for the winners of various competitions held during past weeks. Rev. Fr. Richard Coelho and Rev. Fr.Rohan congratulated the organisers on the occasion. Mr & Mrs. Bernard Ferrao were felicitated by Rev. Fr. Andrew D’Souza and were received into the parish family. The programme concluded with the family dinner and baila. Ms. Caroline D’Souza and Mr. Steevan Cutinho were the MC’s for the programme and Mrs. Shaila D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. We appreciate the efforts of ICYM members in organising this evening.
