On Aug 15th, 2010 ICYM organized celebration of the Independence Day for the parishioners of St Jude Church. Rev Fr Richard Sequeira was the President of the Programme. He hoisted the flag and delivered the message on Independence Day in Hindi. Rev Fr Cyril D’Souza, Fr Alban D’Souza, Fr Anil D’Souza, Sr Shoba, the Superior of the Convent, Mr Louis D’Souza, Vice President of the Parish Parishad, ICYM President Briston Miranda were present on the stage.
On this occasion Fr Alban D’Souza honoured Mr Jackson Saldanha, the previous President of the ICYM for under his leadership ICYM Pakshikere had received fourth place in the diocese of Mangalore. Mr Merwyn Saldanha, ICYM member delivered his message on Independence Day about the subject “are we really free?”
Many of the Parishioners were present for this programme. President Briston Miranda welcomed the gathering and Jyothi Saldanha was the Main Conductor of the Programme. The Programme was ended by Anitha Mendonca with her vote of thanks. As the people dispersed ‘Laddu’ (sweets) were distributed.
